Sainsburys Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce

Sainsburys Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce. These are Sainsburys own baked beans, basically.

Appearance

The sauce is a light red-orange colour. It is very runny, but not too runny. The only thing I would say, is that the sauce is bubbly and the colour can vary in places. There is not much you can say about the appearance of baked beans!

**** (out of five)- Nice ratio of baked beans to sauce, and thick enough. But, I think that the sauce is very bubbly and the colour varies quite a bit.

Taste

The taste is very good. I like the beans, they are cooked well and very solid. I think they have a nice, strong flavour. That is important because they are the main part, and the sauce is just there because haricot beans aren't that nice on their own! The sauce has a good taste, but I can't quite get the tomato. Also, it is quite watery.

***- I like the beans, and the sauce is alright. My only problem is that the sauce tastes quite watery, and you can't quite get the tomato.

Overall, they are a good alternative to brand names (If you're trying to spend less money), but it's best to mix in grated cheese for a stronger taste. There is a good ratio of beans to sauce, but it has quite a weak taste.

7/10

Number 3- Nestle Clusters

Nestle Clusters are a sweet, nutty cereal.
Appearance

I like the way they look. The bran flakes are a medium sized, which is good because you can still see the clusters. The bran flakes, are a nice darkish-brown colour. I like the clusters, which are the nutty bit. They are a very light, creamy colour, with a hint of brown.

***** (out of 5) There's nothing negative I can say.

Taste

I like the sweetness. They aren't too sweet, and the bran flakes help calm it down. I like the clusters, because they are sweet and nutty, and not too over-powering. The bran flakes are good because they stop the cereal being too sweet, and they make the cereal slightly healthier. Together, the 2 types of cereal go well together because they help keep the taste balanced and one doesn't take over the other.

****- I like the flavours but you can't quite taste all the different nuts.

Overall, I would recommend this cereal for your breakfast. It goes well with milk and is a good, healthy start to the day. I give this cereal a score of 9/10.

Mars Tracker Bars

For my second review, I thought that Tracker Bars would be good to review, because my first review was savoury:

Tracker Bars (I'm reviewing the original bar), are an oaty bar with caramel and chocolate chips.

Appearance

They are well presented and a made in layers, which is an effective addition to the bar. I like the way the chocolate chips are small, and sit on top of the bar. There are enough to be tasted with the rest of the bar, but not so much that they over power the caramel and oats.

**** (out of five)- I like the layers, but there should be slightly less caramel.
Taste

There is a good balance of ingredients. The majority of the bar is the oats, which have a less powerful taste. They are then covered with caramel, which has chocolate chips on top. There are also nuts and toasted rice mixed in. I like the nuts, and are toasted perfectly. But, they hide the sweetness of the caramel. The toasted rice is crunchy, but is hidden because there is so little compared to the rest of the bar. The oats seem good quality, because they have a light brown colour and a delicious natural taste. I like the caramel, because it is not too sweet and doesn't go all stringy. It is a rich golden colour, but perhaps too brown in some places. The chocolate chips are very sweet, maybe too sweet. They have a good milky brown colour, and they taste very nice.

**** (out of five)- I like the choice of ingredients, but I think that the chocolate is too sweet and the nuts hide the caramel's sweetness.

8/10

Overall, I think that I would recommend this bar to people who like sweet cereal bars, but I think there are too many ingredients. This is a good addition to a lunch box, but it is slightly unhealthy because of the caramel and chocolate chips.

My First Review: Heinz Tomato Soup

I thought I'd start with a Heinz product because I am a big fan:

The Look

It looks a rich, red colour, which means it uses lots of good tomatoes. It's quite runny, bit is still thick enough for a soup. I like the colour best.

The Taste

It has a very strong taste, the kind you could easily recognise. It can sometimes be a little salty, but that is usually just a hint. I like the strong tomato taste, because I have had tomato soup from other companies where the tomato taste is hidden because the soup is watery and over seasoned.

Ingredients:
Tomatoes (84%), Water, Vegetable Oil, Sugar, Modified Cornflour, Salt, Dried Skimmed Milk, Milk Proteins, Cream, Spice Extracts, Herb Extract, Citric Acid

Score: 9/10

It is a tasty soup and has the right colour and consistency.
